Any problem related to downloading from Unitec Informatik's server

Our server can be pretty busy at times, especially during the release of a new product. If you get errors indicating that the URL or file can't be found, etc. please try again later.

Netscape sometimes reports that the file "is not found" when it is actually just timing out while trying to access the FTP server. The files are in fact there, but Netscape cannot get to them when the server is too busy. You may want to try the download again later, or hit the "reload" button until it is able to connect.

Microsoft Internet Explorer reports "access to server is denied" when the server is too busy. This indicates that anonymous access to the server is currently full and that you may need to try again later.

The download links from other sites don't work

If you notice a site that links to a file that no longer exists, please notify that site's administrator of the broken link. Other sites should link to our download pages rather than a filename.

The file I downloaded will not unzip properly

When downloading a file on the Web (actually your browser is "FTPing" the file) sometimes the download can abort and your browser will not inform you of the error. Check the size of the file you downloaded against the size listed on the page. If they don't match then the download failed. Download failures are quite common with Web browsers and often there is little that can be done to avoid them. All you can do is attempt to download the file again, or try using an FTP program to download instead of the Web browser.

Also be sure to use WinZip 6.2 or higher or PKUNZIP 2.04g or higher for the best results.

We recommend WinZIP by NicoMak. An evaluation version of WinZIP can be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com. If you are opening the file in WinZIP, choosing the Install command on WinZIP's Action menu will extract the zip file contents to permit a complete installation.
